To preserve the health of its employees and partners and prevent the transmission of Covid-19 in the workplace, São Salvador Alimentos has started daily screening of employees and contractors, including daily temperature checks at the entrances of units and before they board transportation, gathering information on symptoms of the disease, and mapping workers in their workstations and in the dining areas.

Employees returning from vacation are also evaluated for possible contamination. SSA has made the teams from the Specialized Service in Engineering of Safety and Occupational Medicine (SESMT) available to monitor employees and answer questions about the disease. These actions are part of the SSA’s Contingency Plan Against Covid-19, which includes over 90 prevention measures.

Managers are also instructed to monitor the health of their teams. If any employee presents any symptoms similar to those of Covid-19, such as a temperature above 37.8°C, for example, they are referred to the medical department of SESMT. A questionnaire is applied, and if health professionals deem it necessary, the employee is removed from work with a medical certificate. All workers who have had direct contact with the patient will also be removed from work until the test confirms or rules out contamination by the new coronavirus.
