Yesterday, May 25th, 2022, at the SESI Theater in Goiânia-GO, José Carlos Garrote de Souza, our Zé Garrote, received the highest honor granted by the Brazilian industry: the Order of Industrial Merit Medal. The tribute was organized by FIEG – Federation of Industries of the State of Goiás and CNI – National Confederation of Industry.
The Order of Industrial Merit Medal was instituted in honor of the pioneers of the productive sector who, with creativity and future vision, forged the foundations of the modern Brazilian industrial park. The award, created in 1958, aims to pay the highest reverence of the industrial sector to both entrepreneurs and other personalities who have stood out in the national scene.
Zé Garrote was recognized for his more than 31 years dedicated to the Brazilian industrial sector, particularly to industrial development in the State of Goiás. Today, ZG is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of São Salvador Alimentos, one of the largest food companies in the country, with a slaughter capacity of over 420,000 birds/day, with more than 7,600 employees (direct and indirect), 2 processing plants in Goiás, and a global presence, with its products exported to 74 countries across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe.
